Description

The terrazzo floor murals are the centerpiece of both the Dolores and Sanford Ziff Ballet Opera House and the John S and James L Knight Concert Hall lobbies.  The design of the floors depict outstretched hands, serving as a metaphor for applause and seemingly welcoming patrons as they enter the center, urging the patrons into the performance spaces.   The project is attached by a large arcing skyway. Each building has its own color pallet. The installation is mostly floor, although there is also epoxy base and stairs, which included “exotic” Mother of Pearl aggregates as well as colored plastic chips which add an illusion of depth to the overall Terrazzo installation. The Artist Jose Bedia, (Miami local renowned Artist) had a vision. Jose put his vision to paper, Grazzini Brothers and Company made his vision into reality.
