Description

The terrazzo floor “Continuum” is located in the newly renovated Maxwell Hall lobby on the campus of Winona State University in Winona, Minnesota.    The University was interested in the floor design addressing usage and flow of the space as well as the concept of lifelong learning.  “Continuum” is inspired by ideas of seeking, learning, community and discovery. The floor evokes movement-the flow of ideas and intellectual thought and the search for information and personal growth. The 1,915 square foot terrazzo artwork spans the lobby and connects to an existing terrazzo stairway and corridor. The commission of Continuum was made possible by the State of Minnesota on behalf of Winona State University under the Minnesota Percent for Art Act.
