Timeline

1920

Two Brothers, Frank and August Grazzini form a partnership installing cement sidewalks.

1923

Grazzini Brothers adds terrazzo installation to their list of services.

1927

Grazzini Brothers & Company officially forms their company and purchases their first building at 620 16th Avenue in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

1929

Grazzini Brothers completed their first major terrazzo installation at Minnehaha Academy in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

1933

Gene Grazzini Sr., 2nd generation, was hired full-time as the warehouse man, delivery man, office worker and janitor.

1935

Ceramic tile was added to the operation.

1936

Gene Grazzini Sr. became the company's bookkeeper.

1947

The company purchased its first truck.

1950

The company completed two large tile installations at the Veterans Hospitals in Grand Island and Omaha, Nebraska.

1954

Seamless epoxy flooring - Industrial Coatings - was the wave of the future and was added to the list of services.

1958

Gene Grazzini Sr. was named president.

1959

Gene Grazzini, Jr. joined the company as an estimator.

1962

Grazzini Brothers installs the epoxy coating on the roof of the Seattle Space Needle.

1966

Grazzini Brothers poured the first concrete on the Nicollet Mall in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

1971

Allen Grazzini, 3rd generation, joined the company working in the warehouse and assisting the tile setters.

1981

Gene Grazzini Jr., 3rd generation, was named president and the company moved to a new location at 1200 West 79th Street in Bloomington, Minnesota.

1982

The founder of Grazzini Brothers & Company, Frank Grazzini, passed away at the age of 94.

1984

Grazzini Brothers landed the largest contract in the company's history at the new VA Hospital in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

1984

Jim Byrne was hired as the Warehouse Manager. Jim is currently the Chief Financial Officer.

1987

Greg Grazzini, 4th generation, began working full-time as a project manager and estimator.

1988

Guido Gliori was hired a Field Supervisor. Guido now serves as Chief Operating Officer.

1992

Grazzini Brothers installs 1.5 million square feet of tile throughout Mall of America in Bloomington, Minnesota. The beginning of a long relationship.

1995

A new Chapter starts. The Company’s bid was accepted for the Ted Stevens International Airport in Anchorage, Alaska.

1998

Grazzini Bros began their first international project: Teva Pharmaceutical Company in Tel Aviv, Israel.

1999

The company moved from Bloomington to their current Eagan location.

1999

The natural stone division was established and began fabricating and installing dimensional stone and marble tops.

2003

Grazzini Brothers established permanent operations in Alaska and installed granite and tile throughout Ted Stevens International Airport in Anchorage.

2006

Grazzini Brothers added soft flooring (carpet, vinyl, resilient flooring) to its list of services.

2007

Greg Grazzini becomes president.

2007

Mark Miranda, 5th generation, joins Grazzini Brothers full-time as an estimator. Mark is currently a Senior Project Manager.

2008

Grazzini Brothers’ longest serving employee, Gene Grazzini, Sr. passes away at the age of 93.

2015

Grazzini Brothers installs tile, resilient flooring, rubber base, resinous floor and carpeting at U.S. Bank Stadium, home of the Minnesota Vikings. The largest construction project in Minnesota history.

2016

Grazzini Brothers installs tile, resilient flooring and carpeting at Sanford Fargo Medical Center. The largest private construction project in North Dakota history.
